Lent Course - Draw Near - Life giving Habits for Lent

This year we will be using the Church of England booklet Draw Near during the groups that meet in Lent. We will meet on Monday evenings at 7.15 at Alex & Suzanne Lyons’ house, 

Tuesday afternoons at 2.00pm at Jimmy’s vicarage and Thursday evenings at 7.30 at St George’s Hall. The booklets will be available in each church. You can also download the material through the Church of England Everyday Faith app.

We have two main Sunday morning services:

Holy Communion at 8am - this is a traditional Book of Common Prayer Holy Communion service, on the first and third Sundays of the month, our service lasts about 30 minutes.
Holy Communion at 10.30am - is our main service and is accompanied by choir and organ, there is also when our Sunday club for children, St George's Dragons meets. All are welcome to stay for coffee and biscuits at the end of the service.

Our children's ministry

  • Dragons Sunday School runs every Sunday at St George’s Church from 10.30 - 11.30. 
  • Tea, Toast and Toddlers is our weekly toddler group meets at St George’s Hall from 9.30 - 12.00 on Monday mornings. 
  • Forest Praise - Saturday 10.30 - 12.00 at St George’s Church Hall on the 4th or 5th Sunday of the month.
  • Forest Praise Cafe 2025


St George's Church is on a hill overlooking the village green of Fordington, where the church fair is held every spring. The church dates back to at least the 15th century but has been updated in recent years. Parking is available behind the church, next to our large church hall which is available for hire.

There is wheelchair access to the church from the car park, and toilets (including disabled toilet) in the church hall. The church is open most days between 9am and 4pm. Hope you can join us on Sunday, for quiet moment in the week, for a wedding or a baptism.

A Warm Hello 

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit one of the churches in our benefice.

Where and When

Whichever church you visit, you'll receive a warm welcome. We're delighted to see you and make you feel at home. Most of our services are on a Sunday, but there are quite a few across the week.

Our Services

The types of services differ across our churches, and we'd like to find one that suits you. First, have a look at the Church Calendar to see what's going on and, second, if you have any questions, contact the church or fill out the form below. We're really happy to help.

What about my kids?

Children are always welcome in all our churches.

  • Dragons Sunday School runs every Sunday at St George’s Church from 10.30 - 11.30.
  • Tea, Toast and Toddlers our weekly toddler group meets at St George’s Hall from 9.30 - 12.00 on Monday morning.
  • Forest Praise meets on the last Saturday in the Month 10.30 - 12.00 at St George’s Hall. All are welcome.
